So, a few short years ago I was a ‘career woman’ who spent too many hours at work, drank expensive champagne and listened to the stories of my colleagues with children thinking what sort of freakish children do these people have? They keep them up all night and give them all these other things to complain about… and, geez she’s really let herself go.
Now I have two children. (Yes I can hear all you ‘been there/done that’ parents laughing at me.) I’ve dumped my job to become a freelance writer, have a newfound appreciation for Australian reds under $10, and I enjoy nothing more than swapping stories of sleep deprivation with other desperate parents.
Oh, and with my ex-career-woman-should-get-a-real-job mentality I’ve managed to convince myself that this is a good time to write that novel I always meant to. Yes, I am completely insane (my husband agrees). I’m also wearing the same pair of jeans I had on yesterday… I’ve really let myself go.
I’m an avid reader of young adult, speculative, sf and some variations of fantasy fiction, but more weird or urban rather than fairies and dragons. I’m a constant thinker, but seldom on the topic I should be. And I’m a learner writer when it comes to novels.
