Lou’s thinking of taking it up, so I thought I’d link to this most excellent post at Camels & Chocolate.
Apparently travel writing is not as easy as everyone thinks. Who’d have believed it????

I read, I commented. Kristen makes a lot of sense – and I love her story about her mother wallpapering her wall with rejection letters!
Kirsten made me realise I’m too soft. I give up too easily.
It’s not that rejection blows me away, it’s just that I hate being pushy, so I put that project away and start on a new one. Dumb idea.
The second dumb idea is thinking that the person/org who’s rejected me knows all. They know my stuff isn’t worth publishing.
I heard an author speaking recently, and they’d already had many books published. But her recent novel kept getting rejected. So she kept trying different publishers. The 12th one published it! What if she’d stopped at the second or even the eleventh?
Okay, I’m going to toughen up. Wish me luck!

…next time you come to my place, you might notice a change of decor.
I’m exploring ‘wallpaper opportunities’ with rejection letters.

Yes, but you’d have to submit to be rejected! Do it for the wallpaper.
